Linux for hackers - My edition

Introduction

Linux is a very wide and general term that always has some overlaps with the term UNIX, it won't matter for the scope of this tutorial but it's a good thing to know the difference and what is what but I will be calling the system that you are (or should) be using to follow this tutorial as linux.

I always had that inner sound telling me that whatever I am doing or going to do isn't my best or I'm just not RTFM the intended way after many tears spent reading the arch Reddit cul... c-community, I decided that I was going to have a read, and I chose instead of reading the manual as my start (although it helped me a lot) but most of the time I was just reading it to tell people to RTFM instead of thinking of an excuse for why I don't know how to fix Arch's black screen after an update.

Although I chose arch linux for some personal reasons, it won't matter what distro you're using, the key difference would be your package manager that I won't through at you at the beggining so you don't critisize me but imma leave it at the end of this tutorial in case you wanted to know.

1.0 Linux file system

Every linux distro uses the same file structure with very slightly modifications in some cases

If you started using linux the first thing you'll notice is the /, it is the root of your file structure where everything branches from, here's an image of the system structure
